Who is who?

Yesterday at Walmart big brother Robert (who turns 17 today!) took the babies out to the van to put them into their car seats.  When he got to the van, he realized he wasn't exactly sure which baby was which, since they were wearing the same sweater.  So he looked at Alexander and asked him, "Are you Christopher?"  He said that Alexander smiled and looked at Christopher, who smiled and looked at him.  So then Robert asked Christopher, "Are you Alexander?" and they did the same thing.  Huge smiles looking at each other.  Robert told me the story and added, "I bet they are going to have fun with this as they get older!"

But it won't work with Mommy, because I have been able to tell them apart since day one.  Actually, I thought the doctors must have been wrong, they couldn't possibly be identical, because they looked nothing alike!  Roger politely thought I was insane.  I finally can see that they do look alike, especially when they are asleep!  But Roger has also admitted now that they do not look exactly alike.  Our pediatrician also can see a difference now too.

And if they could say anything besides mama, dada, done, or yeah, they would say, "Happy Birthday, Robert!"
